The other zones with relation to cooler grate plates
The intermediate zone has a lower temperature, but heat is still an issue. There is also the hardness of quenched clinker which can cause wear and tear to the cooler grate plates. The patented Bar Grate Design gives extra resistance to abrasion and is self-protecting. It is made of cast FMR56 alloy + Xcc® to resist against wear, temperature and cracking. In the cold zone there can be abrasion from clinker grains. The Pocket Grate Design avoids direct contact between moving layers of clinker and the surface of the plates. It keeps a dead layer of cold clinker grains trapped in its pocket and the blowing holes located at the bottom keep a constant opening.
