Hollow balls in vertical mill casting
Magotteaux products offer maximum wear resistance. If you opt for hollow free-roaming balls in vertical mill casting in place of tires, the balls are held in place with an upper and lower ring. The ball and rings provide the grinding pressure and the feed material is ground in between them. Magotteaux can supply these hollow balls in different grades of wear resisting alloys. They are most usually manufactured in chrome-moly or high-chrome iron. The largest ball size is 1,130 mm OD x 150 mm thick. They are chiefly useful for coal grinding in power stations, grinding ores from mining and industrial minerals.
