Water injection system

Optimize your grinding process via temperature control

Water injection is one way to control and maintain the cement temperature at mill outlet at a preset level.

Depending on the circuit thermal balance analysis and the mill design, Magotteaux water injection system automatically sprays water into the mills in 3 different ways:

  • 1st chamber via its inlet
  • 2nd chamber via mill outlet or via mill inlet and intermediate diaphragm (mills with central driving shaft)
  • Both chambers if need be for process reasons

Applications
  • Cement tube mill temperature management
Specifications
  • An hydraulic system entirely fitted in a isolated, modular container (approx. dimension 2.5 m x 3 m x 2.4 m)
  • The container has an incorporated heating system to protect against frost damages and a ventilation system to protect against high temperatures
  • A water tank
  • One (two) pumps with frequency converter(s)
  • Water and air distribution pipes
  • A spray nozzle spraying the water in the first and/or second mill’s compartment
  • A rotary seal (outside of the mill) with wear resistant support for the injection pipe located inside the mill (in case of central driven mill)
  • A local electrical cabinet containing the regulation software algorithm
