Innovation in Indonesia: Magotteaux featured in World Cement magazine
We’re delighted to share a recent success story from PT Semen Padang, Indonesia’s oldest cement manufacturer and part of the Semen Indonesia Group, as featured in the July 2025 edition of World Cement.
Faced with high maintenance costs, frequent mill stoppages, and energy inefficiencies from high-chrome rollers, PT Semen Padang turned to Magotteaux’s Expand MMC wear parts. The results speak for themselves:
✅ Extended lifetime – from 2,000–4,000 hours to 9,500 hours with Expand
✅ US$180,000 annual savings per roller set by eliminating hard-facing
✅ Improved energy efficiency – 1.42 kWh/t reduction in power consumption
✅ Stable product quality – consistent cement output
✅ Sustainability gains – fewer replacements, lower CO₂ emissions, recyclable parts
This milestone demonstrates how innovative wear-part technology can deliver measurable performance, sustainability, and cost benefits for cement producers worldwide.
👏 Congratulations to our colleague Vasupol Kunavuti, Global Product Line Leader, to PT Semen Padang for co-authoring this article, and especially to our Account Managers Ricky Farez, Abimanyu Heruputra, and our technical team for their great achievement and contribution to advancing knowledge in our industry!
