Episode #3 – Discovery process: How mineral deposits are found

While this method was effective for accessible deposits, most of these resources have now been exhausted, requiring more advanced exploration techniques.

Today, exploration combines a range of innovative methods, including:

• Airborne gravity and magnetic surveys to map large regions.
• Radiometric data providing high-resolution mapping of geological features.

These methods can help pinpoint regions of interest for further exploration. Once an exploration target has been identified, ground-penetrating radar and other non-invasive tools are available to refine exploration targets.

Lastly, drilling into the ore body will allow to validate the quality and size potential of a deposit.
