Change of CEO at Magotteaux Group

Gonzalo Cavada will take over the role of Magotteaux Chief Executive Officer on October 31st 2022.

Sébastien Dossogne will stay on board through the end of October 2022 to ensure a smooth transition of the leadership.

MagoSense

Installation of our first MagoSense @ Anglo American Platinum in South Africa

Early August 2021, the first MagoSense was successfully installed on the primary ball mill at the Anglo American Platinum Mototolo Concentrator, located in South Africa.

The device is measuring the total filling degree of the mill, as well as the level of direct impact of balls on liners. 

This opens the way to supplying new digital services to our mining customers.

Flood

Destructive floods stormed across Belgium and surrounding countries

On July 15th, destructive floods stormed across Belgium and surrounding countries. Our plants in Vaux-sous-Chèvremont and Trooz were severely hit. All our personnel is safe which is the most important aspect of this disaster. On the material side, we are still in the process of measuring with experts and insurance the extent of the damage but is it already certain that production will be affected.

It is a challenge that Magotteaux will overcome.

Expand One Salt River

Expand One: a solution exceeding our customer’s expectations

Salt River Cement plant in Northern Arizona has experienced extremely high wear conditions in their vertical raw mill.

The mill is used for crushing abrasive raw material to make clinker. The customer used high chrome OEM rollers.

The roller set was first installed, then hard-faced off site two times, each time after 1,350 hours, resulting in an average total runtime of 4,050 hours and 1.18 million tons of raw material ground per set, requiring three mill shutdowns.
